Are any of you also binge-watchers of shows? No, I cut the cable a couple years ago and don't really miss it. Except for sports which I can catch with friends or go out to see.

If you need to get out Out West is out

Nah I don’t spend much time staring at screens for entertainment. I have lots of productive hobbies and spend time doing things out in the real world wondering why so few people over 40 and even fewer near my age out doing interesting things. You just answered that question, thank you!! Now I can stop wondering and get on with having fun in the real world, I’ll save being an observer for when I’m too old to do anything else, if that ever happens, lmao!!!

I didnt have cable for over 12 years. Now it came with the new house and internet package. I have found Guy Fieri, You've Been Chopped( may have to stop that one- cant stand Martha Stewart) Prairie Woman, Gina, Iron Chef. And then there's the serious stuff like NCIS and Criminal Minds.
But all in all I am still a book reader

LOL The guys on a radio show that I listen to in the mornings were talking about how they cut off cable, deciding to only watch sports out, primarily in bars... and how, in the end, they found they were paying more (via bar bills) than they were for cable! My dad in Georgia keeps a dish just so he can watch the Phils. Men and sports!

I'd love to get out, Out West... I like exploring frontiers..

I do that maybe 2x per month my food and beverage comes to maybe $15 - cable was getting over $100/mo.

Come and explore me . . . I mean with me.

Can't say I binge watch... and Dexter was one huge disappointment after the books (I know you're so surprised to hear that) I'll admit I'm hooked currently on Botched tho.

Game of Thrones was something I tried to read and failed at. So the series didn't hold much appeal but right after my daughter turned 21 we were in Boston and a local bar had a popup GoT experience...complete with furs and backdrops and all kinds of fun props... and themed drinks too! That was when she learned about day drinking with Mom!

Those cooking shows on TV are alarmingly addictive. I also like the medical and prison real-life programmes too...which is also a bit alarming!

Considering I was into meth in my youth, I was amazed they were making a show about it and never watched an episode until the finale was about to air. I feel very fortunate to have binged that show entirely in a few weeks, I loved it. About this time I swore I would never watch a show about fucking zombies, by the time I started watching TWD I was 3 seasons behind. Love that, too! Also had to binge GOT 1st 3 seasons because I didn't know I had that HBO channel, again loved it. Heard good things about Dexter, downloaded a couple of seasons to binge. I gave up during the 3rd episode. Dude was eating and talking with his mouth full in every scene, really annoyed the shit out of me. I was disappointed with World War Z, but loved Will Smith's "Legend". I downloaded the first two seasons of "Soap" remembering how funny it was. Watched about half the 1st season and gave up, humor has changed a lot since the 70's.

I've become really sick of watching any violence or the shows that seem to compel a society into becoming zombies glued to their sets.

I'll take documentaries, history and creating art over commercialized
pro sports with the exception to european auto and motorcycle racing
any day. You'd be hard pressed to pull me away from and original Star Trek
episode and god forbid it's on at the same time as The Andy Griffith show!

I prefer internet over cable and something to motivate me into setting up
the chromecast I purchased about 8 months ago.

And now we take you back to Gratefulgirl69's blog in it's
entirety!

Using more than all the road!

Wow reading your list of binge shows and this nerdy geek was yes yes yessing lol

Broadchurch is one you just have to binge. I would also recommend OA, Stranger Things, Firefly, Dark (German subtitles) but so good, Victoria, knightfall, the crown, Dowton Abbey, Farscape,...I'm a binger too

Tickle...GoT books are a bit of a chore...I was reading before the last season came out last year...then when the season started...I had to stop reading because the books are different than the show.

The show is absolutely worth watching!

I loved Dexter...didn't read the books, though. The end of the series...I so did not like.

Ha...drinking with the kids. I've got some stories there, lol.

Oh, man...we share a very similar taste in shows! There are some that I have seen that I wasn't sure about...I might have to check them out.

If you've got Netflix, check out Zumbo's Just Desserts. Brilliant.

I rarely binge watch, but my TV stays on 24/7, and at least on shows I enjoy. I have tinitus, so I need a noise level to deal with that constant issue. Now & then I will binge tho, if something really good is on, but I only have basic cable, so not to many marathons are run on basic.

I've nearly forgotten about that series The Killing... highly addictive, and well done. May I suggest The Fall if you haven't already watched it?

"Prison Chicks from Cell Block 8" I can't say I've seen that one. Are you in it?
I'm more for the real-life documentary types. "24 hours in A&E" is actual footage of what goes on in a London hospital. It's actually very moving at times...and often gets me teary-eyed!
